Peanut wood is named for the lighter, cream colored spots that often resemble peanuts in the shell. The pattern has been created by tiny clams burrowing into the wood when it sank to the bottom of the ocean. The burrows filled in with sediment and then fossilized, creating a contrast of cream and golden brown fossilized wood. Peanut wood is very rare and mostly unavailable now. This fine art pendant has a gold-filled post inserted into the top, with a gold filled ring attached so your pendant will be ready to wear. This fine pendant measures 1.2 by .90 inches.
